Enjoy This Amazing Experience
We offer a very wide variety on our menu of freshly prepared meals and drinks. All our dishes are freshly cooked to order by our team of chefs, and most of our sauces are homemade, and whilst we do understand the need for (and strive for) speed, at peak times a delay is inevitable, we appreciate your patience and understanding.
Our comprehensive snack menu is a great way to satisfy your hunger in between meals. With the best view of the harbour, join us for lunch or a mid-day snack.
Our passion for steaks and meat is unrivalled. Since 1987, we have focused on sourcing prime cuts to ensure that our customers receive the very best value for money and high quality.
A visit to Cala Bona harbour wouldn’t be complete without a good selection of fish and seafood. Janet & John’s prides itself on its quality and choice in this regard and has done for over 30 years.
Janet and John's restaurant (remember the childrens books of the same name) is a must visit in Cala Bona. It sits right on the pretty harbour there; a great location. Food arrives promptly and hot!  Read more

John qualified as a chef during a 4 year hotel management course at the Birmingham College of Food & Domestic Arts, (now Birmingham University). After 12 years of employment with large hotel groups he became self employed along with Janet in 1973. We had our own country hotel and restaurant in the UK until we moved here to Cala Bona in 1987 and opened this restaurant.
John retired in 2007 and Janet in 2019. Son Lorne (aka John) along with wife Yoli are now at the helm. Lorne having grown up in the restaurant and worked front of house since 1998.
At Janet & Johns, it is always our top priority to provide our guests the best possible care in our restaurant, as well as to ensure the health and safety of our guests, staff and our community.
We no longer need to hang our heads when we say: “I am a cook.” In fact, we can hold our heads high because people are learning to respect the cook for his or her skill and the creative spirit that exists in kitchens.
